Arkansas native Josh Fohner made an impact in the OZ Trails community in June when he rode from Buena Vista, Colo., to Springdale, Ark., in the All in Tour. The All in Tour was created to raise funds to support Josh’s recovery. A team of Josh’s family, friends, and community guided and rode beside Josh on his journey home.

In fall of 2016, Josh was struck by a vehicle while he biked home from working out one morning. After suffering a severe brain injury, several surgeries, 15 months in a coma, and countless days in therapy, Josh is on his way to recovery. To support his son’s rehabilitation, Mike Fohner and others created the All in for Josh fundraiser.

Josh and I began talking about the trip about three years ago as a way to help cover the cost of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy as well as Activity Based Therapy. The idea seemed impossible, but with the help of folks in the cycling community, the dream became a reality. ~Mike

In the four years that followed his accident, Josh has achieved incredible feats. Josh has spent more than 20 hours a week in physical therapy, gone snow and water skiing, and even competed in the Summit Challenge at the National Ability Center in Park City, Utah. Medical debt is a growing issue in the U.S., and many families like the Fohners face large medical bills in order for their son to heal. This is why the All in For Josh fundraiser was created.

Almost everything involved in therapy for people with disabilities is expensive. Whether it’s a mobility van or adaptive sports equipment, it is usually completely customized to the individual’s needs, so the cost goes up. ~Mike

According to the All in for Josh website, “Funds are being raised to allow Josh to continue his therapy as well as share his story of hope and recovery with others. All donations will go 100% to Josh’s care, recovery, and spreading his message of hope.” The fundraising goal is $145,000; they are only $40,000 away from achieving that amount.
